Today I’m going to be answering the question, “Why do I get angry when someone wakes me up”
I’ve been through it before ( and sometimes still do).
I’m in the middle of a good ass dream, and then suddenly I have someone waking me up for the littlest of things.
“AJ, can you take out the trash?”
“AJ, wake up, the movie’s just starting to get good.”
The list goes on.
It was more of an issue for me at the beginning, but I’ve been getting better with it.
And now I wanna help you get everything figured out.
Why do I get angry when someone wakes me up
You might get angry because of your psychology. You also may still be tired, have low blood sugar, and you might have ADHD.
Your psychology
Your psychology has plenty to do with whether you have anger when someone wakes you up.
The interesting thing about it is that everyone has different reactions to being woken up from their sleep.
Depending on your vocal patterns, you may be angry.
You may have a reaction that’s closer to fear.
Something as simple as even watching the sound your alarm makes when it goes off can make a huge difference.
Think about it, when you hear a loud buzz that wakes you up you might have a less positive effect, rather than hearing the sounds of the ocean hitting rocks as the birds are chirping (wow, I’m pretty deep).
You’re still tired
Another reason you’re probably waking up still angry can be pointed to a few different things.
If you want to take a proactive approach to preventing this problem is to even create a sleep pattern.
You’ll be at a great start for creating a sleep pattern by going to sleep at a certain time, every night.
You also may be having a lack of sleep as a result of staying on your electronics for too long.
It’s proven with science that electronics make it harder for you to fall sleep and get the type of sleep that you deserve.
So all you really have to do is shut off your electronics at a certain time and leave it alone in order to help yourself fall asleep.
Another thing you can do is meditation.
You heard me right, meditation.
The good news is that there’s more than one way to meditate into having a good night when you’re ready to sleep.
My favorite is to listen to some audios that put me in a good mood, and that I’m prepared to fall asleep to.
Finally, another reason you could still feel tired and feeling angry is the type of dreams that you’re having.
If you have a bad dream then you could feel even more drained (from stress) and ultimately wake up angry as a result.
Low blood sugar
Your blood sugar also plays a big role in the way you feel when waking up.
When your blood sugar is decreased to too low of levels, your body has a way of increasing adrenaline and other hormones that’s also present in stress.
Yes, anger included.
Scientific studies also prove that other disorders can occur from low blood sugar.
The most common thing is anxiety.
Now these things can happen to you while you’re awake.
BUT
If you fall asleep while it’s happening then it could be a very strong reason why you’re waking up angry.
You might have ADHD
Another reason you might have an angry feeling when you wake up is that you might have ADHD.
One of the most interesting facts that I came across on ADHD and it’s specific to waking up angry.
To save you time, I’ll be concise about the point.
At least try.
“With ADHD, it starts your day with the feeling of an all work and no play expectation.”
And that thought alone is enough to makeyou mad.
You have to have an understanding that your actions throughout the day are your choice and you’re doing it because you want something.
You have to enjoy the fight of the day to value the win.
Enjoy the fight without a harsh attachment to “the win.”
That’s important to remember.
But you can also manifest each of these things if you’re really attached to material things.
I personally enjoy experiences more than material things.
Although I do like some nice designer to wear occasionally.
But back to you, you’re the most important between us.
You’re probably coming to terms with that most of your life you’ve done work to have nice things but rarely thought about why you’re doing what you do.
It’s actually a trait more valuable than I.Q., and it’s your E.Q.
You commit to doing something and should be excited because you have to see the “win” of the situation.
You made it this far, and I’m sure you’re someone who wants more in life.
It could be something small.
Maybe it’s a new home theater setup.
A new car?
Maybe it’s some new Givenchy gear?
Okay, I’ll stop.
But seriously, after putting work in throughout the day to get something in return.
Next time sometimes asks you to do something you remotely consider to be close to work.
I want you to excited about the next job you secure, because you’re getting bigger responsibilities.
As your goals grow, your responsibilities and things increase too.
Investigate a little about your patterns.
See what time it is when you might catch yourself in a stressful situation.
If you’re used to yelling at others early in the day, something may be off.
Forgive yourself and the person involved with what made your day start off bad.
You’ll be able to focus on doing the things you really want to do.
So after anytime you get some sleep, you will be waking up enthusiastic.
Get to where you can predict your day and make minor tweaks to get better results.
Final Thoughts
These points should be enough to explain why you possibly get angry when you wake up.
- Your psychology (it varies depending on your response to multiple things such as response to vocal tones, sounds that associated with stressful situations, and much more).
- You’re probably still tired
- low blood sugar
- You also might even have ADHD.
These are only a few possibilities but there’s more that we’ll look into when talking about your topic.
See you later!
