Why is Kurapika such a neglected character in Hunter x Hunter?

I’d say actually that Kurapika got a taste of focus, but instead had to take a backseat. His motivations for becoming a hunter is way different than Gon, Leorio or Killua. Kurapika has many different moments in the series that allows viewers to take his journey in different directions, my favorite example is quest for revenge. There were more stories that reveal Kurapika’s mentality, particularly the events that take place in the York New City Arc. The writers just happened to make the emphasis on Gon (which is an timing thing). Personally I think there’s a few characters that would get “spin offs,” but we are given arcs to give us a taste (your could say).
