I’ll be answering why albums are named after songs.
It’s a popular thing, but as I’m working on my project, I only have 2 songs and they’re separate from the name of the project.
That might change but we’ll see where it goes.
But let’s get into it.
Why are albums named after songs?
There’s a lot of opinions when dealing with why albums are named after songs. There’s some fans that think it’s because of art to promote their work or just for the name sounding good. There’s also people that think it’s to identify the best song on the project.
Art or More?
According to Quora, there’s a reason in which they do this for promotional purposes or simply because the name sounds good.
Acknowledge the Best Song
Reddit appears to have a deeper reach in the meaning, suggesting that there’s a formula in naming your album after your best song.
Less Popular Than What It Seems
According to Medium, they believe that this trend is actually starting to decline.
Final Thoughts
I think it’s a coincidence for titles sharing the same name as a song that’s on the project.
But at the same time, there’s also methodical artists that take those little details into account and intentionally do it.
I would be the type to do that at some point, but right now I’m just making music, and the titles just come as I finish the work.
